Thrilled With My New Nextel Cell Phone

A few months back I left my old cell phone behind in the stone age. It’s amazing how fast these techno toys get out of date. I looked around on the web and in a few shopping mall stores to get a bit of information and decided to go with the Nextel cell phone service. Not only was the girl I talked to more informative then the rest—retail service is so hit and miss these days—but their network as a whole seemed to offer better things.

From their website I learned about their actual cellular network—not that that’s the right word anymore. Right now the Nextel cell phone network is one hundred percent digital making the original cellular technology nothing more than a catchy pop culture word. This makes connections faster, clearer and more powerful. It also makes it easy for them to be up to date with all the latest data features that have come along and that will continue to evolve in the future.

The cool thing about Nextel cell phones is that they have walkie-talkie features built into them making connecting to other network users a breeze. Not only does the package I got allow me unlimited use of this feature, but connection through the walkie-talkie is instant. That means no number dialing, phone ringing and waiting for the person to pick up. All I have to do to reach my best friend—who I convinced to buy a Nextel cell phone with me—is push a button and talk. No real mystery there, it works pretty much like any other walkie-talkie.

Like most other phones around these days, Nextel cell phones have web access built into them. What I liked though was the simplicity of how their internet access was designed. I never thought I’d be the kind of person who’d read the news and send emails through my phone but their setup was good enough that it got me trying it out. Now I use it all the time when I’m on the bus or just needing to check something when I’m running around.

My favorite feature offered through the Nextel cell phone services is their organizational tools. I have always hated entering new names and numbers through the keypad and never enjoyed using my phone as my only accessible address book. As long as you have a Nextel cell phone though you can use their Mynextel address book application. This thing is totally web based and allows you to manage all your contacts on a computer—which is so much easier—and then view them on your phone whenever it’s needed. For one thing this allows me to make changes anywhere and have them instantly appear on my nextel phone and on whatever computer I end up using. Better still, it lets me have access to information I never would have bothered entering in a phone before, like email addresses and birthdays.

All in all I’m loving this thing and have been convincing everyone I know to join the network. While the service is good as a single user, the more people I can walkie-talkie the better!
